This Privacy Policy explains how Super Text Summary handles information when you use the app to summarize text, save summaries, use free attempts, and manage subscriptions.

1. Overview

Super Text Summary helps you turn pasted or typed text into summaries, TL;DR summaries, key points, pros and cons, and other supported summary styles.

The app is designed so the OpenAI API key is not stored in the iOS app. Summary requests are sent from the app to our Firebase Function. The Firebase Function sends the request to OpenAI to generate the summary.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the app to show third-party advertising. We do not intentionally send the text you summarize to analytics events.

2. Information we process

Text submitted for summarization

When you enter or paste text and request a summary, the text, selected summary style, and selected output language are sent to our Firebase Function. The Firebase Function forwards the text as part of a request to OpenAI’s API so the app can generate the requested summary.

Please do not submit passwords, financial account numbers, confidential documents, sensitive personal information, or content you do not have permission to process.

Generated summaries

The generated summary is returned to the app and shown to you. If you use Copy or Share, the summary may be placed on the iOS clipboard or sent through Apple’s system share sheet to destinations you choose.

Saved summaries

If you choose to save a summary, the app stores the saved item locally on your device. A saved item may include the original input text, generated summary, selected style, selected language, and a timestamp. Saved summaries are not uploaded to our Firebase database by the app.

Free attempt counter

The app may store a local counter for the number of successful free summaries used on the device. For this release, the app may provide up to 10 successful free summaries before requiring a subscription.

Subscription and purchase information

The app uses Apple’s in-app purchase system and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, purchase status, and restore purchases. RevenueCat may process purchase receipts, product identifiers, subscription status, and an anonymous app user identifier to provide subscription features.

App interaction analytics

The app uses Firebase Analytics to understand general app usage, such as onboarding progress, paywall views, style selection, and successful summary milestones. We do not intentionally log raw input text, generated prompts, or generated summaries as analytics event parameters.

3. Third-party services

We use the following services to operate the app:

These services may process technical information necessary to provide their services. Their processing is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

OpenAI API data is not used to train OpenAI models by default unless the API customer opts in. OpenAI may retain API request and response content for limited abuse-monitoring purposes according to its API data policies, unless a different approved data-control setting applies to our account.

4. Local storage and deletion

The app may store saved summaries locally on your device. You can delete saved summaries from inside the app where the delete option is available.

The app may store subscription state cache, onboarding completion state, and a local free-attempt counter. Removing the app may remove some local data, although some iOS storage such as Keychain-backed data can behave differently depending on iOS and device settings.

We do not provide a cloud account system for saved summaries in this release.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Super Text Summary may offer a weekly auto-renewing subscription, including a free trial if shown in the app’s purchase screen and Apple confirmation sheet. Pricing, trial availability, renewal period, and subscription terms are shown before purchase and are handled through Apple’s in-app purchase system.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings. We do not directly process your payment card information.

6. Your choices

7. Children’s privacy

Super Text Summary is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the request.

8. International processing

The services we use may process data in countries other than the country where you live. By using the app, you understand that your information may be processed by service providers in different locations.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes means the updated policy applies.
